Easy Flash Template Help

1. How to upload the files to your webserver?

HOW TO START? (WHICH FILES SHOULD BE UPLOADED ON THE SERVER AND HOW?)

1) Please unzip the template after you have downloaded it to your computer. When you have unzipped the template you will see 4 folders. Namely Flash, HTML, Fonts and PSD.

2) Open the "html" folder. (see picture below)

3) Upload all files to the root of your website (this is where the index.html file should be located) This directory is called public_html or WWW). You need to do this with an FTP application such as CuteFTP.

Please note: That we ask you to upload the contents of the HTML directory we send you, so do not upload the entire HTML directory just the contents of the HTMl directory, which also include sometimes the "inc" and "images" directory.

Sometimes it's needed to create the "inc" and "images" directory manually on your webhost first.

2. HOW TO RENAME THE BUTTON LABELS?

This is the same process as changing the company name, or any other content in the text.html file. To do so please do the following.

1) Open text.html in Notepad, search for the current button names, namely("menu2, menu3, menu4, menu4, and replace the text with the yellow background with your own content.

3) Save the text.html file and upload the text.html file to your web server.

IMPORTANT! :
Note that you can only change the highlighted text, any other changes will cause problems when loading/reading the text.html file, so just change the highlighted text only, and do not enter any info outside the yellow text.

3. HOW TO INSERT OR REPLACE THE CONTENT (text) INTO THE TEMPLATE?

This is the same process as changing the author name, or any other content in the text.html file.

1) If you want to update the text in the "About us" section. Locate the text underneath ////// About ////// and replace all the highlighted yellow text with your own text.

2) Then save the text.html file, and upload the same to your web server.

IMPORTANT! :
Note that you must only change the highlighted text, any other changes will cause problems when loading/reading the text.html file, so please just change the highlighted text only, and do not enter any info outside the yellow text.

4. HOW TO MAKE THE EMAIL FROM WORK?

Open "snowMailPHP.php" or "mail.php" 
and just change $ToEmail = "mail@yourmail.com"; in the code.

When done save and upload the file

FAQ

Q: When I add images they do not show up in my Easy Template. They also don't show up in the Flash webpage but I do see them in the folders on  the server.
A: You use images with .JPG (all uppercases) extension please change this to .jpg (all lowercases)

Q: I use the & symbol in the body text, and now can not see my text or part of the text.
A: The & symbol is not supported and should therefore not be used.

Q: I use a MAC and use Textedit to edit the text.html file.
A: Make sure that your edit the file as plaintext instead of HRML to read more about this please click here.

Q: How do I edit the text in the easy template?
A: Please open the text.html page in notepad or any other text editor, modify the content and then save the file.

Q: Can I add URL's (hyper links) in the bodtext of the template?
A: Yes, Just open the text.html page in notepad and enter

Q: How do I change the name of template in the blue browser bar?
A: Open the index.html page in Notepad, and change the content between the <title>..........</title> tags, save your index.html file and upload it.

Q: Why are these templates loading so fast?
A: The templates load fast because all the pictures and content are located outside the Flash file, and only if the user wants to see a certain picture by clicking on it's smaller thumbnail, the larger picture will be loaded into the Flash file.

Q: How do I replace the small pictures in the about, contact us , services, etc. sections?
A: This again can be done directly in the "text.html" file,
by simply changing the HTML code that refers to the respective picture, for example <img src="photo2.jpg"> all you need to do is to change photo2.jpg to a new filename, and make sure this picture is indeed uploaded to your we server.

Q: How do I replace the sound file?
A: The sound file are also kept external so you can simply replace the one we used with your own music, or you can remove the sound file if you don't want to hear any music at all.

Q: Does your template support other languages such as Spanish, German, France, Greek, etc.?
A: Yes, we support non-english languages. All you need to do is to save the text file in the UTF-8 format in Notepad. This will allow you to support all unicode characters.

Q: Does your template support symbols such as a ", or %, etc.
A: Yes, we support these special symbols as well. Please go to www.adobe.com to read more on how such symbols are supported.

Q: How do I change the font size of the logo/header in the template?
A: In the text.html file you can set the font size in the following manner. &name1=<font size="20">Paul Rowson</font>

Q: I try to edit the FLA file but when I save the FLA I see many errors?
A: To solve this please export the file to the same directory as where you got all the other files, as the swf file communicates with the text.html file.

I use Flash CS3 /CS4 and have done the above but still got a problem. When you want to edit the FLA file in Flash CS3/CS4 you need to make some additional changes to the FLA file

Q: Does Easy Template comes with the respective source files?
A: Yes, we do provide you with the FLA (Flash source files) as well.

Q: How do I add more photo's to a Gallery/Portofolio/Work section of the Easy Flash Template?
A: Please open the text.html file, and add an additional path to the new picture.
